New Member's Hello
Hi! I just joined up after checking out the site. I'm a retired Electrician and live in Wakefield, MA. I have never tried out metal detecting, but I am interested in giving it a try. I'm a pack rat at heart and love to collect old items, especially chauffeur badges. While checking out various web sites looking for badge collectors, etc., I ran across TreasureNet and decided to check it out. I was very happy to see so many chauffeur badges found by members. My Grandfather was a Hackney Carriage Chauffeur in East Boston, MA. He was issued badge number 2377 by the Commissioner of the Boston Police Dept. in 1919. I'm looking to locate his badge and buy it (if possible) to get it back into my family. It's got to be out there somewhere, and detecting is another way of finding it!!! I'll be back in touch to get up to speed on detectors, etc.. I also figured I'd post my "In-Search-Of" info. in hope of spreading the word. Thanks for having me as a member. Take care, Jim (jimjr.)
