I did a job down in Carslbad awhile back built an apartment complex by the Lowes. I liked it down there even went fishing in the lake in the middle of town and drove through Roswell as well. Havnt made it down to Las Cruces since I was a kid I remember seeing collage girls.... Have you guys had any luck with Spanish/Spaniard discoveries ? ? Ive searched the Rio Grande I once thought I discovered a Spanish treasure chest. Ended up being an old Corvette hub cap.....The flags on it as I dug it up had my heart pumping. Looked like this one ...

Haven't had much luck with Spanish artifacts... Not for lack of trying though. There are quite a few detectorists here, I can name at least 15, some who have been detecting since the 70's. Too many for a town of 50,000! I get lucky if I can find any silver coins.

Rio Rancho here. Me and my 3 young sons are totally addicted. Haven't found anything great, yet... But we're working on it. Seem like the hardest part is finding an ok place to detect. I think at this point we've dug every piece of iron out of my own yard.
