I'm def eyeballing that 305 - Top of my budget is ~$400, and looking to upgrade from my Ace250. Also considering the Tesoro Silver, but the 305 is intriguing.

I'm definitely getting the new 705. But, I'm waiting for Live.com to offer a larger "cashback" deal. Currently, it's 10%. A few days ago, it was 13%.
For those of you that don't know about Live.com cashback, if you go to their site, search for Ace 250, you'll see a gold dollar sign with a % off shown below it. If you click it, it'll take you to ebay and show you all the items that matched your search.

You must buy an item using "buy it now" feature, and you must have a live.com and a paypal account (with the same email address).

Then, when you buy the item, it'll tell you that you'll get $xx.xx amount cashback. Some items qualify for instant cashback, while others you must wait 60 days for the refund.

Most likely, you can expect the 60 day wait on the refund for a metal detector. I bought an Ace 250 like this during Christmas and live.com was offering 30% cashback. So, I paid $212 for the detector, and 60 days later, I got $63.60 cashback in my paypal account!

I'm hoping they offer that 30% deal again, and THEN I'm gonna jump ALL OVER an X-terra 705 pro pack (with extra 18khz coil) for $848. That means I'll get $254.40 cashback. What a deal!

I use the 3KHz coil and it is a hum-dinger on silver coins. Also, listen very closely for that different warble in the tone, (AM Mode) when you hit a pulltab. Good Luck.
