Illinois inacted a new no trespassing law in August 2011 that went into effect immediately. The law is about posting no trespassing with purple paint marks but still required no trespassing signs through the end of last year.

So as of January 1 this year they only need to have purple marks on the trees.

See the following link for the description of the requirements so if you see them you know not to go in there or are on the wrong property. Although we get permission to go onto property, sometimes land owners or use get mixed up on boundaries so we need to know the laws on trespassing.
