I believe they live in the wilderness.... My back yard!
 

My dog tried to catch one. Had to do some googling to see about the best hazardous clean up I was about to engage in. Hydrogen Peroxide and Dawn dish soap seemed the most popular. The smell lingered for a few months. Neighbors kept saying it sure smells like skunk let go around here.

I never see them in the daytime mainly during the darkness.
At first glance when I see the lawn starting to get ripped up I know they are back
 

Skunks are actually cute, and I would have one as a pet if not for the smell. Maybe there is a species of skunks that does not fart that badly?
