im not sure, its a pretty big point though. im new to this so im not too sure about names of em yet :)
on the stone, look at the rub marks up and down the area with the crease. all ive done is wash it off with soap and water with my hands. in one pic u can see the bottem corner where it looks like its been hit several times to make an edge on it.

I see the breaks in it treefrog. Dont know I bring home many things I am unsure of. It could have been picked up by ancient man and used one time and discarded being to soft. You may never know.
Good luck with the site. Is there any ridges or bluffs nearby .Might be another site for you.
Take care.

there are no bluffs on this property, but the are all around here. getting some permission to hunt some down near a couple water falls in overton co tn soon.
i went out and found some cool hand tools today in that field, getting hard to see with all the grass growing in now. only a few high spots are easy to see in.
here are the pics :

Man what a show. That is some nice material. On pictures 13215 and 13201 the black with the brown in it, is that a whole triangular? The reason I ask, is that material with the brown in it ,have you found much of it or is that the only piece with the brown in it.
Supposedly that black with the brown is only known to be in one valley of the Tennessee river but we have found it traded or traveled up to about 60 to 80 miles away. Just curious if you have found any of the raw material there. This was all taught to me by someone who hunted that valley extensively. Nice finds all of them they look very ancient... hope I am not bothering you with all the questions.

hi, yes it is a whole point, looks all together with nothing missing.
the rear end is worked down to a sharp edge heres another view:
ive found all colors here on this one field. ive got 30+ lbs of stuff in bags and boxes from there.
one area gives up more black mixed with browns and white, and another area gives up a lot of grey and greyish blue even.
ive found plain while, a few reds, and browns.
no problem n the questions.

That is a nice point treefrog with the ground base. You Jamey and thirty7 are the only ones on here that are pretty close to me and show things similiar to what I find. I wanted to ask if you had seen any of this brown material? Sorry for the bad pics but these were the only ones I could find at the moment and does not look like these ever got cleaned . I saw that brown spot on one of yours and thought it might be the same.
Thanks
TnMtns

Man, it looks like you been having fun! Very nice finds! Sometimes it freaks me out how modern progress just bulldozes history and buries it under concrete forever hiding who knows how much history in that name of a new shopping outlet. Not that i'm one to talk, seeing as how i make my living as a heavy equipment operator. Salvage all you can while you still can, you have a fantastic hunting site!
