What Have I Found?

I found this point last week in Stanford, Arkansas. Greene County. Near Crowley's Ridge. Im looking for opinions on what ive found please.

In my old business, a "professional expert" was some guy from out-of-town that
carried a briefcase.

If I found that point up in my grounds up in Minnesota, I’d slap it my Adena narrow stem frame… Waubesa is also a dead ringer… I’ve no clue if either stretched that far south… great find~✌️~

It could be a Pontchartrain. The picture I'm showing is one that was given to me a few years ago and not a personal find. This one was found in southern Tennessee. The base on yours looks the type; I could be wrong though.

Thanks. It sure is a mystery. I sent it off to get authenticated and appraised the other day. Should be back in a week or two. Im very curious to find out what type it is.

Shows what I know ha ha I really thought Adenas were kind of west of the Mississippi course I go off of Overstreet more than anything for typology… either way you have your answer.

Greene County Arkansas is West of the Mississippi.

Oh I see I typed west and meant east… Yes Arkansas is Wes haha. i figured it would fall under a different name because I was under the impression adena as a type was generally east of the Mississippi… but there’s a lot of points with different names depending on where you are so I’m not saying it’s not adena just that i was wrong that an Arkansas version would fall under a different name.

Adena Narrow Stemmed is what it was authenticated as. Good job on identifying it.

I think it's probably pre-Adena, late archaic. Just a guess based with what I'm familiar with in Ohio.

What kind do you think it is? Northeast Arkansas is where I found it.
