DD,
Welcome to Treasure Net !!
You've come to the right site.
If you care to post pics of your finds, I'm sure you will get responses upon which you can act.
Don....

Yes, please post them up. what kinds of finds do you have?

Well, Im not sure what to post first. I live in upstate NY near Fort Stanwix/Battle of Oriskany area. I believe Ive found an abandoned home of someone that may have been of some importance. Its on private land w the owners permission of course. A lot of what Ive found and continue to find isnt making sense to me and or I cant identify a lot of it. The pictures Im posting are conservatively about 10% of the total artifacts Ive recovered. Ive only excavated approx one third of the sunken foundation and it found it completely covered over w rocks. Its taken me 4 years so far just to unearth a third of the foundation to safely retrieve these items. The rest of the pictures arent on my phone and will post later if you think its warranted. Many freemason symbols and buttons along w a sword that Ive been told greatly predates the Civil War and could possibly be Hessian used during the Rev War. There is local history that reflects their presence. Im just not sure what to do now. Thanks again, any and all .help is appreciated. 1511211987095.webp

You got lots of stuff there and the age spread is all over the place. Lots of more modern along with older artifacts. The second to last piece with the eagle has been identified here on tent as a personalized stamp with the owners name obviously missing as it was on the others. Cool stuff.

Very big assortment of relics, but nice , i would lay the pliers of to the side for now ,might be a little later than colonial. but who knows. is that one piece a bb gun.?

More items. The table was found in 1 day. My basement is full

I see a Peter Dorni clay pipe ........and an Eagle Breast Plate !!!!!!!!!!!!! I want that site.

Hopefully you are able to discern the good stuff from the bad....I see lots from both sides here.

I would find out who is an expert closest to you. Pay him to come tell you what you have. Make it clear NOTHING is for sale at this point, you simply want to know what everything really is. An honest identification/assessment/appraisal is what you need, and if you don’t know, then you need to hire someone who does. It may cost you some money now,but if you don’t,it may cost you WAY more later in lost revenue, should you decide to start selling off your collection. And THAT my friend,is a collection.

I will give you 10 bucks for that eagle designed coaster you got there....:laughing7:

That is quite a menagerie of stuff you've got there. You will enjoy the research and the process of ID'ing it all. If any of you button experts can ID this one I would love to know, because I have found the exact same one here in MA.

Looks like a great site however I don't see why this would be someone important? Don't take that the wrong way but many sites have a wide variety of relics like this in my opinion. I'd like to see the sword and free mason items.

Wow D.D.!

Only suggesting.....
Break in into groups. Buttons. Glass. Tools. Military ( possible military). Ect..
Then either research them on your own,( library, museums, ect.) or look for fans of a particular group of items here. And folks here do cover a broad spectrum with some great helpful folks to boot.

Congrats on your museum! Quite a site you hit. Often era's are piled in layers. But they can get mixed too....
