New site-old finds

[Westfront]

We started detecting on new land today. Found roman and medieval pottery scattered over the whole field so we started detecting in a loose grid to find any hot spots. Not much success with the spots but finds from roman till modern turned up.

Lots of WWII junk, Lead, Coins with a well worn Prussian Silver, Buckle parts, medieval thimble, bronze frag, Roman furniture mount, Buttons, with a German WWII coat button and a gilded Naval button that looks like a British 1812 to 1820 type.
For the last item i need help IDing. Looks like some kind of silvered hair pin or maybe cloak pin. Fairly big with a 30mm cross and 40mm to the end of the broken pin.

That last artifact looks like the same style cruciform of the Tulinger (kelten). I saw some items such as this listed and I think it was from the Karlsruhe Virtual Catalog with a publishing from Angus McBride.

Anyway, you have your sources of course. Kelten is not my field of study but it stood out.

Thanks Tim! Success was meant to any hot spots on the field. As Cru stated, a good day this time of the year when you have limited access to the fields.
