Hey everyone!....I've been detecting for a little over a decade, but the glass bug has been biting me. I did a little dump digging last year, but nothing was old enough to excite me (40's- 50's stuff).

I'm close to a 1800's gold rush area, so I've been poking around in these areas....I found these bottles with a thin probe in the random areas around old mining cabin sites.....They were hiding just under the 150 years of built up soil......So far I haven't found an undug dump in these areas. I'm 40+ years too late for that, as the bottle digging craze of the 60's and 70's cleaned this country out....Maybe one day though.

Probably nothing too exciting for you guys that find all these great old bottles I see on this forum, but they are fairly old. :)

Applied top Lea & Perrins, a couple Eno's, a Whyte & McKay Scotch and a small hand cream.....

Welcome to the tnet basement. Nice digs! I really like the whisky.

Thanks Jim.....Lots of scrub time with a Scotchbrite on the end of a welding rod to clean these up!

Love the Balm and the whisky as well. All are good finds. Keep at it and keep posting

Great start Congrats on some nice lookin glass ! Rob , I've been at this a long time,, old mining areas/camps are never completely dug out ,trust me, there are still some undug holes out there their just harder to find but waiting for ya . I walked into an area of dug outhouse pits in Leadville Colo it looked like a bombing range holes everywhere , I still managed to find 2 pits all the rest had missed , 34 bottles later (5 from Colorado) made for a good ride home. Keep your shovel dirty !

Beautiful bottles!

Nice digs there Rob. Does the lea&perrins have the stopper with it?
