New Version of Excaliber

Hey all,I'm in the market for an Excalibur but was wondering if you have heard if Minelab might be releasing a new one in the near future. I don't mind spending the money on a really good machine, but would hate it if I spent it and a month later it came out. I know that the Excalibur is probably ending its life span or should I go ahead and buy it and if one does come out, wait a while for any bugs that may crop up and then but one when they get worked out. Any outlooks or opinions are welcome.

i heard they was coming out in early spring this year, soi held off buying one , but they never did. you hear it ever year they are, but none yet, one day they will. i see you live in alabama so do i, gadsden i live. its late in the year,if your going to buy one and not hunt much, you could hold off till spring again, i know whaats its like i got a new unit and 1 week later they come out with the SE. i was mad, haha.. but the dealer took it back and sent me a new se . so was happy about that. never know with minelab, could be today or 5 years from now a new one come out, im happy with the one i got, but if a new one comes out, i buy it, and keep the old one for back up. like to get out let me know, im going to daytona sept 1st for aweek of hunting, if you dont have an excalibur im more then happy to show you mine and how it works, let me know ...rjnail

I have been hearing this rumour for well over a year, if you hold out on it happening, your missing a lot of great hunting. I have two excals now if they come out with a new Excal, it would have to have major features change for me to be interested in it. Cosmetic change will not be worth the investment.

Now, if they were to come out with a PI with discrimination that would be different. A PI that can desc iron would be worth the investment to me, but it would have to be able to desc out the iron.....

Been hearing the same rumors for 5 yrs. now, Aint gonna happen the original X- cal works and sells well why would they change ,I have them for sale if interested.

I am a Minelab dealer. As of this writing there are no plans for a relaese of any Excal replacements. This now means that tonight they will annouce it. Just kidding. Seriously , there is no news from them at all. Are they working on something ? Sure . I would get the Excal now and get some use out of it. It will still have a great resale value when/if a new one comes out. If you need help with your purchase please let me know.

My take on this whole thing is.... I bought a $4000.00 Canon 1D MK IIn camera. Six months later they came out with the MK III replacement model. Guess what The one I bought STILL TAKES PICTURES, just the way it did when I chose it. Will I replace it because there is a new model? Ahhh no. When I scrape the $$$ up I will be ordering my shiny new Excal... HH Joe

I have only had my excal for about three weeks. I bought it new from kellyco, and I have no regrets at all. I'm still learning it, but so far I love it. It is by far the best machine I have swung. If minelab comes out with a new one, I say good for them I still like the one I have, and If the new one is way better maybe in a couple of years I will get the new one. But for now I'm going to enjoy the one I have, and watch my ring collection grow.ha ha

They would have to come up with something really special for me to trade. I'm very happy with both my excals now. One of them snagged a nice gold and diamond ring today at Daytona Beach.

IMHO the only way they could make it better if they had a way for it to dig the rings for you and put them in your pouch

THAT WOULD BE A DIFFERENT story
