Found this near an old PoW site in Columbia today.

My first Union State button. Backmark reads,"JOHN F. BOYLAN N.Y. *S.N.Y*"

That button is better than the one I found but they are the same. Mine was a cuff button. Is yours the same (cuff)? Came out great after cleaning and now that you have found words on the back of yours I will look at mine again and see if I can see anything.
