I was curious about these two buttons that I acquired through an auction. They were actually in a huge pickle jar, mixed with thousands of buttons. These 2 buttons are some of the more interesting ones found in the jar. I have googled and visited many sites about buttons but have yet to find the identity of these buttons. I thought possibly Civil War or maybe Canadian but I am not sure. They have some sort of coating on them that I am afraid to remove in fear of ruining them. Someone told me that the coating is caused by the old plastic buttons that they were stored with.
