Hello everybody. I'm new here and basically new to metal detecting. Way back in the late 1970s I had a Bounty Hunter but never really did much with it. My wife and I spent the last 17 years traveling all around the country full-time in our motorhome and we saw a lot of people using detectors. I kept saying I needed to get one of those, but I never got around to it. Last October we bought a house on the Intercoastal Waterway in Florida, just outside New Smyrna Beach. I've been watching people on the beach with their detectors and finally decided I needed to do that. So I got a Garrett AT Pro for Father's Day. I've only been out a few times with it because I'm an author and I'm on deadline to get a book out by the end of the month, but I have found a few coins and enough bottle caps and pull tabs to build a battleship. Looking forward to learning more from everybody here.

Welcome to the (in my opinion) BEST place to give and get info on virtually ANY treasure/collecting hobby out there. I moved to the Port Saint John- Titusville area 17 years ago. Lately, out and about in CA and AZ. I have found JARS full of gold and silver things over the years, in FL. One of my favorite spots is the South Beach area. The kid's wear momma and daddy's BEST stuff to the beach.... and lose it! A disposable world today. Go get some! ╦╦Ç

Welcome to our community of TNet! It's a great hobby and you are in a great place to take it up -- good luck!!
