I just recived this in my inbox from NGC NGC Cert #2102197-001NGC Description1916 STANDING 25CNGC Grade ILLEGIBLE DATE Label https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/2102197-001/other/ I had a Standing Liberty quater I figured its worth it to try to find out if it was the 1916 or the 1917. I stated that on the submission form 1916 /17Standing liberty when I called they said they would try to ID it by the details. I got the email graded finalized shipped and this above. I know the date is illegible they listed it on this as a 1916 does this mean they did Id it by the detail differences between the 1916 and 17 ??????? Someone help before I fall head first into the Booby Hatch Thanks Tommy

It looks like a 1917 to me, but it does look like NGC is calling it a 1916? Keep us posted.

Hey my friend, great find regardless, but for my 2 cents, I would interpret that label to mean that it is a 1916 without a date. I know there are distinctions between the 16 & 17 Type 1, but I'd say NGC is probably only second to PCGS when it comes to grading services, and if they grade it as such, then in my mind, I found one of only 52,000 made, and that's historic! Congrats to you buddy!

An SLQ by any name, would smell as sweet.

Unless you're planning on getting a deposit for a house with it, I'd just let it go and start looking for its sister. :tongue3:

OCD can be a pain, can't it Mr Monk. LOL

Anyhoo....they are a favorite coin of mine. Nice!

Look what even the crappy ones are selling for on eBay. People like them so they can have the whole series

I knew what is being asked for them. If you get any offers that even near that... Let me know.

If I find gold Ill sell it if I find silver I keep it Im not a wealthy person I love the hobby and all the cool finds I collect. Heck Yes I like to make a profit if I can . Whats wrong with that ? Because Im hoping to have a valuable coin does not mean Im just in it for profit ,but some people are and thats there right nothing wrong with that. People CRH find lots of gold in the water and on beaches and even search for gold and sunken treasure I have many display cases of relics and coins cause I appreciate History. Thanks everyone for the help !!!!!Tommy

A2coins,

The grading people use high powered magnification when they check out coins for appraisal so I'd just accept it for what it is.
