Found this little beauty in a farm field, among alot of beer and soda cans. Also found this
Tombac round, I would call it a button but there is no sign of a shank on its bottom.
I almost discarded it like it was a piece of can until I looked at it closer.

Congrats on the 2 center. Not an easy one to find. Most of the ones found are 1864's so you did well with the 1869. Nice one!

Thanks man, ya I found 1864's before, 1869-1872 are rarer to come across.

Very nice 2 cent piece.

Many years ago I lived in Western Ma.

My daughter was born in Leominster.

I've found a few 1864's as well over the years... coincidentally I found an 1869 also this year... but not nearly in the good shape yours was.

Thanks for looking, There's a lot of history in state for sure...

Nice 2 cent piece . The only one I ever found was a 1865 . No where near as nice as yours

cool 2-center. I don't know the size of that button thing, but it looks kinda like part of a pocket watch case

Any copper that has been in the ground has a number of things to consider with condition, such as the grounds
PH levels, soil type and drainage properties, condition of wear at time of loss, and most important in my opinion
is if it was lost where a structure might have been such as a dwelling or similar type of roof that protected it from
further ground damage. Thanks for looking...

Very nice find. Those 2 centers are elusive creatures
