Nice 1909VDB found

As the title says, i just pulled this nice 1909VDB out of a MWR. Full wheat ears and a little bit of mint luster around the letters. Grades at least a VF IMO. Thanks for reading and looking. MM2

Nice coin, MM! Way better than VF, though. It's a solid AU coin. Obviously from someone's collection- too bad the S-VDB isn't tagging along!

Very nice find. Couldn't agree more on an AU grade. I would be afraid to say how many cents I've went through from the bank and hadn't found anything like this. As said before very nice find and keep on searching!

Thanks everyone. I think i read somewhere that the coin must have most of the mint luster to make AU. This only has a little around some of the lettering. It does have great detail and a nice raised rim. Baddbluff, i think i would have fallen out of my chair if i spotted the S mintmark. They would have to revive me. I appreciate all the comments. Thanks Mentalunrest. Yes, i did find the 55DD about 6 months ago. I haven't had any recent big scores with halves though so started focusing more on the smaller denominations, especially cents. There are many errors/varieties to search for in the cents.

Totally agree with you on the cents. I bought a ryedale last month and have gone through nearly 2k. I sell the copper but enjoy pulling out all the years with errors. There is so much variety in those coins and I truly enjoy looking for things other than a silver rim.
