Nice bust silver for 2014

Popped a sweet 1831 half dime yesterday during an hour long hunt. Also found this too cool compass
And A hat letter I that's in rough shape.

Nice one! I think so many of the Half Dimes come out looking so good is because of their size for sure, people just lost them due to small size, unless they drilled a hole in it, than you see them found with more wear. I remember finding my first one, pre pinpointer days, in a pile of farm field dirt, I was ready to give up on the signal when I finally felt it in the hand. Seemed like it took 5 minutes to locate it in the dug pile....

I am soooooooo jealous! Great find. I've found 2 real and multiple half reals (including 2 in one hole), but have yet to find bust silver. Way to go!

I'm pretty sure it's a compass
Perhaps an engineers compass
