Found time to hit the sticks for a bit today. With no big plan in mind, I headed for a couple of sites that myself and others have hunted previously.First site is a mid 1800s cellar hole. Someone had dug the bejesus out of this recently, but I poked around for a biit anyway.Found a couple of relics including a heart horse buckle, an old door bell mech. and a shell casing I havent encountered before.....a Rem. UMC 28-30. Also found one coin...a 1919d wheatie.
Next site was a 1920s cellar hole. Here I found a spot way out back that produced well for me....must have been a play area.I n a couple of hours I snagged 11 wheats, two common mercs, a 34 washington, and two old Canadian pennies....one being a scarcer KG V small cent. I also found an old two piece dress buckle and a couple of buttons. My whatsits are two copper discs about the size of a quarter. They have a small hole in the center and are scripted "Disc no. 56" ??....anyone know what these might be?
Anyway, it was a great day to be out....The diggin was nice aside from alot of small roots guarding deep targets.....alot of the coins were 7-8"...the two mercs sounded off great at that depth on my IDX.
Best of luck to all...Joe

I found a copper disc just like yours. Mine has no lettering on it. I will be interested to see if anyone can ID it.
