I occasionally walk creeks and look for points and have little to show for it aside from broken heartS and some shards of pottery. I was actually dropping some minnow traps in the creek and decided to hang out for a bit to see if I could catch anything and identify the species of baits. Well I walked a big bar slow like. Nothing there. Crossed the creek and this was laying right on top like it was ready to go. I had my gopro on my chest but nobody here wants to hear me turn into a school girl. Hey Mad Cladder .... WOO HOO!! Dang that is a BEAUTIFUL specimen! I’ve been on the lookout myself lately for NA artifacts, but no good finds yet. The amount of chips and flakes I’m finding tells me they’re out there, just hiding. Congrats on an absolute stunner!! Thx for sharing, Ddf.

Thanks DDF. It was a stunner. It makes the time I spent with little to show totally worth it.

That is one sweet old timer. Great find!

That does indeed look like a knobbed Hardin. I had no idea Hardins were found that far east. Hardins are named after the town of Hardin, IL. where many were found. Amazing find. Gary

Beautiful native point! Been years since my last! Maybe the recent storms have flushed some out for us here on the East Coast. :occasion14:

That is one great looking piece.

Nice one there

Not one I’ve seen. I nailed the age but had to check the book for the name. In this region My overstreet book has only examples from Kentucky. This is middle NC. Maybe that means nothing but I’m assuming they are more common in KY.
