Found this a few years ago in my honey hole. I completely forgot about it and found it again. Does that count as 2 finds...lol ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1424648061.071360.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1424648135.826572.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1424648198.955269.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1424648406.339280.webp

Nice piece! And you forgot about it??- Crazy man! Yeah- it counts as two now ;)
Thanks for showing- HH!

These are on my wish-to-find list too... And it dosent even need to be near as nice as this one that you found!!!

Thanks yakker! It is crazy. I'm still trying to figure out how I could have forgotten about it. All the enthusiasm on here has really got me chomping at the bit. Now, if the snow and ice would melt I could try for some new artifacts... New to me anyway.

PaDirtDigger, I would say say keep your chin up but you'll never find any treasure like that. Lol

THAT'S COOL!! Would it be a nutcracker or etc ? Tony

Thanks Johnny.... maybe this year I'll find something.... but yeah, chin down always.... :-)

Almost looks like a pestle with the base. Very interesting find. Thanks for sharing. I have some new sites I am pumped about this season. Good luck!

I think you're right Tnmountains. A pestle might be closer to its original purpose. I suppose being hafted could extend their reach giving them the ability to stand over their work.

It has the look of a pestle but it isn't smoothed or polished on the working end so I am thinking on a pounder type of tool. Looks to of been shaped for something.

Good point Rock. With the abundance of oak, hickory and black walnut in the area, a pounding tool would have been essential.
