I found a cap gun the other day that says DICK on it, lol!!!...I went back to the dump I found on my property earlier today/yesterday now. The temperature was back in the mid 40's so I figured the snakes wouldn't be too eager to bite me. I took a hoe to dig with and found a bunch more nice bottles and a nice Ball mason jar with a lid. It has number 9 on the bottom. I brought a few out and cleaned them up. I'm going back with something to carry a bunch out. It's a steep hill I have to climb and there's glass everywhere. Got to be careful not to fall down in that mess. HH to all and have a good one!

Good Stuff. I have tonnnns of Ball mason jars. My step dad worked for them in Port Allegany, PA for a long time.

That's one of those old paper cap guns... I used to have a pair of 6 shooter ones that my grandpa bought me before he passed away back when I was kid growing up. You just tear off a small roll from the larger one from the box... then put it onto the spindle inside the handle and feed it through to the hammer. Pretty awesome for scaring a chained up dog half to death! lol

Or sisters, like my brothers did to me!

Nice finds, and how wonderful to have a dump on your own land. I say that with all sincerity because you are free to dig it at your leisure. Lucky dog! You might want to screen the soil once you get out all the larger items, like the bottles. It is amazing what wound up in dumpsites, whether on purpose or by accident. You could potentially find buttons, marbles, coins, tokens and other small objects - just by screening the soil. And since it's on your property, you can take as long as you like in doing it. I'm so wishing I had my own old dump - and I don't mean my house!

Nice finds there! Gee wiz-got a hobby in your own back yard-awesome!

Have fun,
Salvager

I love finding those old guns, when I first uncover the outline, I always think "Holy Crap - A GUN" then I realize it's just a toy.

What is the opaque white jar in that group? I have seen others post pics of these and I believe I found a piece of one, but I never knew what it was.

Nice gun btw, those are always neat finds.

GREAT bottles and NEAT gun!

Congrats! Nana :)

Nice finds. Great pics. The cap gun looks almost like my .32 Colt.

Sweet Dang! Nice finds. Those blue bottles sure make nice eye candy. And I love the Dick Tracy gun. Keep digging!

Great finds!!

nice bottles!

That's a Dick Tracy cap gun, I had one as a child in the late '40s. They were of a poor design, and the cap roll would offen jam, just as you were about to shoot one of the bad guys!
