I found these as a pit stop on a friend's land in north Florida around Jacksonville. It is funny how different the patterns are compared to what I find in east Georgia. image.webpimage.webpimage.webp

Those are great pottery finds! I find it interesting too when comparing different locations and tribes' pottery and it makes me want to know their stories. I read somewhere that you can tell how happy the people were by the pottery they made. The pottery that is plain with no designs were made by people who were so busy trying to survive they didn't have time to decorate them and were living a rough life but the ones with designs were made by people who were having a good life and time to decorate their pottery, they were happier. I always find pottery with designs here in my creek and that makes me happy that they weren't struggling and were happy. Anyway, thanks for sharing your pottery finds, I love them.

I dont have any with the lines going up and down like your 2nd pic now thats a cool looking design.

Thanks Peaches! I never thought about it that way...very cool and yea Rock I have only to this point found pottery patterns that looked stamped. The one you mentioned looks more hand scratched.

I can't tell from the pic, but it looks like it's either net impressed or fabric marked.
