Nice variety of late 18th and early 19th c. artifacts with two mystery objects

Went by myself this morning and again in the afternoon. We've hit our field pretty hard, so I tried a new area, that's close by and found some interesting stuff, including several tombac buttons, and one decorative flat button. There's a keyhole cover from a padlock, and maybe a gun part. Some seals. Odd items. But the thing that puzzles me is the small item with the script "M." I thought it was a rivet, when I dug it, but when I cleaned it I saw the monogram, and the odd form. Not sure what it is. Anybody? I'm also curious about the thing that looks like a very small lid.

The 6th picture looks like something I posted a few weeks ago, appears to be a lock cover plate, as stated by many of the Tnet members.

Thanks! I should have said "three" mystery items, because I was not sure about the strap guide either. That makes sense, though.

Actually, what I was calling a "small lid" is the third photo from the bottom. It's a small disc (broken) with a flattened oval sticking off of it.

I've seen those before & can't remember.
The easier one is the modern 20th C 'popper' jacket button. (you call them something difference, but they are like a button that pops into the other side of the jacket. - Snappers??)

Thanks CRUSADER! There was a cottage, built in the 1940's, not far from our site and we do find 20th century stuff now and then.
