Nicest Merc I've ever seen + first 2 cent

First two sites busted out, so I stopped at a wooded park looking for something to do and I come across a nice cellar hole right next to the parking lot. Finds were nice

1916 Wheat
1918 Wheat shot twice
1925 Merc (very nice shape, glad I didn't rub it)
1868 2 cent
Organ reeds, piano company plate, buckle, buttons, and other assorted stuff

Boy, that's mint. Personally I think the Mercury dime is one of the best looking coins ever made. You found a nice one.

Re: Nicest Merc I've ever seen + first 2 cent

I would grade your Merc at AU/BU - slightly out of focus, so can't suggest a higher grade. The 2ct looks awesome as well. So the first 2 places didn't work and you had to improvise? WTG! Sometimes the spur-of-the-moment thing works better than the planned, organized hunt.

BTW, I'd suggest dipping some Q-tips in acetone, and seeing if that 2ct doesn't clean up a little better.
