Got a deep signal and dug down about 10-11 inches in sandy soil. Up pops this shield nickel. I had to check when produced....1866 to 1883. My oldest coin so far. Here on the west coast....we dont get to many coins of this time.
It could be in better shape but considering the age....Im lucky to get it. Maybe I can clean it up and it will look better and get a date.
