A field I've been watching was finally bushhogged, so I got permission and put the Etrac to it. The field must have been cherry picked in the past because I found modern clad, but no silver and only 4 wheats. I say it was cherry picked because I found a total of 8 nickels, which is way out of normal proportions for my finds. Of the 8 nickels, 4 were older Jeffersons, 2 were buffalos (1918 and toasted), 1 V and my first Shield. I can't believe these older nickels were there and no silver, unless it was cherry picked. Anyways....
Here is a picture of the older nickels. I tried a new cleaning method on the no-date buffalo, it didn't work very well. The other ones were pretty close to toasted, but I got a date off the buffalo and the V. The Shield has just enough detail to identify it as a Shield. I'm happy though, it's my first!
Sorry for the picture quality, it was dark outside, so this was taken inside.
