I usually do cents, but I am starting to search nickels for something a little different. I tried to do a little bit of research on jefferson nickel varieties but haven't found much. Does anybody know if there are any varieties for these and if so enlighten me a little bit? Thank You!

The number of varieties are too numerous for me to pull from memory. I suggest you start with a good cherrypickers guide. Whitman puts out a fairly good one.

If you do a bit of Internet searching you should find a plethora of information. Vary your search terms a bit and you should find more than just sticking with one set of terms. For example, after checking the first few pages of results for "Jefferson Nickel Varieties", check for repunched mint marks, doubled die errors, and every other error and variety you can possible think of. Use not only the standard terms used in numismatics, but also variations on spelling of those terms.

Time for coffee.

Most common are:

'39p Monticello doubling
'49d - d over s
'54s - s over d
'55d - d over s

Key dates are the '38s, '39d and '50d

Many other varieties but this is what I look for

There is a 2015 error where the reverse "creeps" off the edge of the coin.
