Finally all the field has been ploughed & we have until Sat/Sun to detect it before its rolled & off limits. I did 7 hours today & Dad helped for 4.5. In my first hour & 20 minutes, I got the 4 Hammered :o Then it slowed up for some hours until on the second to last run I got hit out of the blue with a tiny Saxon Sceat circa 700AD. :headbang:

Also had:

4 Lead Tokens
1 Jetton
2.5 Royal Farthings
2 Nice 17th C Tokens
Roman Ring fragment
10 Roman Coins

What another outstanding day :coffee2:

UPDATE:

Turns out its rarer than I first thought here is the full ID:

'This is an interesting find because it is an example of Series CZ, which
is a rather rare copy of Series C produced somewhere in southen England
c.700. The row of pellets vertically down the side of the head and the
absence of one side of the standard on the reverse are particularly
distinctive features of Series CZ.

We have recorded only four other coins of Series CZ since 1997.'

This is now by far my rarist Saxon Sceat :headbang:

:blob8: :occasion14:
