Firstly is Cru'Dads last couple of hunts (picture 1) on a newly ploughed & rolled field, perfect conditions but not much about. Although he did get some Scrappies, 18th C Military Button, & our first Roman Silver of the year!:hello2:

Today we did 2.5 hours on the Oat Stubble & had:

4 Scrappies
1 Lead Token
Tudor Button
17th C Token Farthing dated 1660, I'm waiting to hear back on this one, I think it may re-write the books.

Cru, you are killing me with how much you are finding over there. I am seriously debating about bringing G2 with me next year when I come home for my Mum's 70th birthday...... Well done!! :occasion14:

UPDATE:

As far as my researcher & book writer friend knows, this token is the first recorded Detector find, & confirms his archival evidence that this token has been wrongly attributed to another town of the same name. Love it when we prove theories like this! It will be in the new book on these.

Congrats on a good hunt!
Which one is the farthing??

Roman silver at last!!

The token (Farthing denomination) is bottom left of the coin shot.

Congrats on the token! I proves that we can rectify things by using a detector. Something we need more often. Nice denarius too!

Yes, its the 2nd rare 17th C Token that I have proven was wrongly catalogued.

Congrats for a first denarius!

Another great hunt Gru, and congratulations on proving your theory. Well done.:hello2:

It was an obivious theory because these don't normally travel very far & the other town was on the other side of England. However, without working with the right Experts, it would only be a theory. I'm lucky to have built up some great contacts who appreciate the detecting & recording we do.
