There has been plenty of rain recently & lots of localised flooding. Therefore instead of continuing on the 'New Farm' which would have put sticky boot marks all across the crops, we went on the stubble. We knew this would be better going as well, because of the well drained sandy soil.
Although the area left to do on this field is not the best we did pretty good for 4 hours 45 minutes in the near constant rain.

I always post both of our finds unless I state otherwise. Cru'dad finds on average about 30% of the finds with a Cortes & the rest is with my XP. It's my (although now our) hobby & he lets me keep everything, not counting what we give to the landowners.

Good results for a rainy day. The fibula and bronze nails are nice! Whats the ribbed piece in the buckle pic?

I like the silver buckle piece. Great finds. :icon_thumleft:

I'm 80% sure that its small part of a Medieval Buckle.

Always nice to add a couple pieces to your collection.
That Silver buckle would have been a great find if intact.

You presevered the weather and found some very nice finds. Congratulations!

I thought the same, I may also have another small piece of it, found a previous year. (I seem to remember)

Looks like your switch to Plan B paid off. Any day with 2 hammered silvers is better than "pretty good". Nice digs!!

(yes in the low thousands, I gave 1 ring worth £800-£1000)

This field was so good the first year, we gave the farmer a coin album & nearly filled the first page with hammered silver. He was shocked, because when we got permission, I said I would be back with a tub of finds & he laughed thinking there wasn't anything on that field.:icon_thumright:

wow nice finds i may have to get to your neck of the woods one day just to see you do the happy dance every time you dig

That dance is now only reversed for the most special of finds or I would be to tired to detect. We have very little stoppage time, & Dad is the only one who stops to GPS finds. Its a pretty slick routine & boring to watch I imagine.

die hard hunters in the rain!! another good hunt!
