No 40% halves

If there were no 40% halves and it was clad 65 and beyond would you still hunt them?

Im not sure i find enough 90%ers that i could go through all my regular skunks and all the boxes with a 40% or 2, to justify the time and effort to hunt halves.


Just wondering what you guys think.

Nope- I've only found 1 90% in about 30 boxes- where as Ive found close to 20 40%ers in those 30 boxes- Id up my dimes 4-5 fold

Yes but I think people don't hunt dimes as much- like in the other thread about dimes- because if you only get 1/box its less value than 1 40% per box- and the time/$$$ is harder to justify- it would reduce the hunters for sure
I'm with you though I hunt dimes-

That's funny you ask, I was wondering the same thing a little while back. If we were just hunting for 90's I don't think I would keep hunting, it's the 40's that are found in between the 90's that keep me going. HH, Maverick.

thats a bad comparison considering the same design half dollar made today, the kennedy half, was only minted in 90% silver for 1 year, and the same design dime made today, the roosevelt dime, was minted in 90% silver for 19 years.

I would still do it even though my last 15 boxes produced 1 or 2 40%ers.
