🔎 UNIDENTIFIED No idea

I find this type of rock every now and then. Iowa creek find again. The center is dark brown and only visible from one end. The outermost part is yellow/tan. No residue or color left after scratching an unglazed tile. Would it be a petrified item, some sort of agate? I’ve never kept them before, but I believe I will from now on.
Any insight appreciated!
