I went back to the town dirt pile tonight where I picked up the corroded IH (still soaking) and two old bottles. I think today's brief rain shower helped to settle some of the dirt/sand on the big pile and seen two more old bottles sticking out.
The milk bottle reads BIG ELM DAIRY COMPANY, one pint registered. The bottom reads T. MF C.O. II
The flask reads WARRENTED, FULL 1/2 PINT.

Enjoy!

Dig,

very nice bottles. Good job cleaning them up.

have a good un..................

Hey Chris, How do you clean your bottles? Do you oil them after cleaning? Matt

Hi Matt, all I've ever done is just use warm tap water with a bit of dish soap using a old tooth brush. These two cleaned up better than most I think due to that it was a high mixture of sand vs. dirt.
But the smaller ones I can't get into with a brush like these to other ones from earlier this week from the same town dirt pile.

Nice Bottles....Always something good do do along withy the swinging!

Nice bottles! How many have you pulled out of there now? I know that finding old dumps goes hand in hand with TH'ing...those bottles can be worth a few bucks ,plus some of the other stuff that can be fun. I have heard stories where people have found jars/cans of money in dump sites plus jewelry....so dig away!

Hey gypsyheart, only four bottles (so far). I'm still watching the piles to see if they change any from day to day. Once I see a change I'll do some more detecting, but I'd like to find more old coins though.

The jars are neat, my wifes says "are they really worth anything?"

"To the right people they are". Someday I'll probably list them on ebay. I got a box full of them from over the years of finding them.

Hey Cris, you might want to try sifting through the piles a bit. You never know what might show up.
