I think The Walton case is the most Believable case I ever heard of.
I think he even took & passed a Lie detector test back then, if I Remember Right.
Personally I wouldn't trust to take a Lie Test to Prove I'm Me.
as far as authority cares, Lie detector tests either prove you Lied, Or you somehow beat the test.
& It's inconclusive. the Police never call it a
Truth Detector Test.
Though Whitley Strieber case hit a cord with Me for many reasons (through His book Communion),
he is a Writer. so there is always a chance he was just dang good at research at what most people dream & remember
from birth.
and good at writing. but while reading it he was able to convince me at several points what happened to him, Happened to me.

of course it could be like he said, "Conditioning".
that Cover Grabbed my attention in the Book stores till I Couldn't Resist Buying it.
The eyes Would Draw Me over & Over as Soon as I saw It. there used to be a Mountain of them in the middle of the
Book store floor for Months.
the only reason it took me so long , I thought it was about taking the Religious Communion.
once I heard it was about an abduction I snapped it up.
I've always ignored the Betty and Barney Hill case which started it all.
something about them came off as uninteresting to me, like looking for recognition for being a black & white couple back then.
and that failed so they invented a way to draw attention to themselves. so I only read bits and pieces
driving in a car. abducted , examined , nothing else. no details.
but I think those are the top 3 abduction cases I've heard of that I can rattle off.
I'm pretty sure there are More But
