Has anybody bought one of these? I plan to head to Cancun with it. I am curious how the dry land pinpointer modes work compared to other pin-pointers like a Garrett Carrot or Whites TRX.

Its a really great setup, I bought it for the scuba head but the PP is very solid and works great as well.

I did a test today. Iam a little disapointed. It does not detect gold chain or gold earing. But it does detect gold ring pretty good. I did air test. For 200$ i exeptet at least to detect gold chain.

Ok post your tests. It has only 3khz so that is the reason why it dont detect earring and gold chains. Since i wanted to search for jewelry in sea that is not what i exepted. Well. Only rings for me 7

I did some air tests with it tonight. Here is what I got using the coil: 10 cent at 3 1/4 inch, Lincoln's at 3 1/2, Indian Heads at 3 3/4 (skinny) to 4 inch (fat), 5 cent at 4 1/4 inch, 25 cent at 4 inch, 50 cent (80 and 90% silver) at 3 3/4, 18K large mans gold ring at 6 inches. So not bad

Only thing iam disapointed is that it dont detect gold chain or relative small gold earrings. For a big ring it is good. But it is hard to change from earth coil to water coil.
