my first post...found these items on my nc piedmont farm...hand tool?(upper left corner)...scrapers(some very sharp)...points...a pottery piece( middle left side)...amethyst(sp?..middle left)...any input on origins/dating?...thanks...

Welcome to tnet. Cant help with dating but you have some nice finds, looks like a good farm for hunting.

Bottom point second from left looks like a Stanly Narrow Stem. Those I think date around 5000-6000 bc.

Could do with close ups. Looks like some Savanah rivers, Bottom left,second looks like a Rowan but would have to see close ups. few tools & the top left looks just like a quartz rock.

Nice finds, I miss hunting on farm lands in NC.

thanks to all...my camera sucks at close-ups so gonna get a better one before i do them...good golly molly(couldn't hep it!) thanks for input...i thought the same of the upper left(my first find bout a foot deep in ground plantin a maple)...but i believe it's shaped for use as a hand hammer?...it fits nicely in hand with a broader end and the opposite end narrower...heres some pics(first 5 and last 2...camera sucks!!!)...also this rounded stone(second set of 5 pics) i just found this a.m....it looks river shaped with some human touches?...whatcha think ya'll?...

ref my orig post here's closeup of upper middle...i call it an ancient "leatherman tool"(multipurpose)...very sharp notches bottom left and upper middle (for shaping arrow shafts, etc.?)...serations on broad right side and pointy left side(sawing/scraping?)...no pliers though...just riffing here...i'm a complete rookie!!...

The last pic, I would say is either a tool or preform.. Its Rhyolite. Looks like maybe a plow ding. I have seen lots of preforms that have quite shape edges like that, so its really difficult to say whether its a tool or preform. Still a keeper, nice find.
The other two I would say just rock, although the rounded stone could be a grinding stone, hard to say from pic.
