Hi! I’ve been off and on with my posts, but I’m back.

I am still pretty new to metal detecting. I have an AT Pro and a White Classic.

I have 3 acres of my own and permission for other properties in the area. I could scan them by myself, but I’d really like to have a more experienced person to learn from.

I live in Clearwater but I'm always up for a hunt. I have been using an AT Pro with standard and large NEL coils for about a year and a half. Let me know when you're going hunting. Where is your property in relation to the "town" of Micanopy?
East or West of Hwy 441?
Fort Defiance and Fort Micanopy were located within the town limits during the 2nd Seminole War and two battles were fought nearby- The Battle of Micanopy and the Battle of Welika Pond.

Fort Defiance was established in December 1835 on Lake Micanopy under the command of General Richard Keith Call, but was temporarily abandoned in August 1836.
In was soon reoccupied as Fort Micanopy under the command if Brevet Major Levi Whiting.
For the period, it was larger than most of the Florida forts, being 250 Ft square with a blockhouse at each corner.
On December 28, 1840, Miccosukee Native Americans led by Halleck and Coosa Tustenuggee attacked an Army escort at Martin's Pond on the Micanopy-Wachoota Road, killing six, including the wife of Lt Alexander Montgomery of Fort Micanopy.
Fort Micanopy was finally abandoned in February 1843.
