Norther missouria or Ioway?

All of these pieces were found in Northern MO just south of Kirksville. The lite was a very large mound in a flat plowed field. I don't think the bones are human, at least not the big one. The flat pottery shard is coated inside and out with red iron slip. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

Well I can tell you found those in a farm field. I have hundreds of broken heart breakers. Every once in a while I find a good one. Check the outside of the rows at the very edges maybe you can find some good ones. Still fun to find the broken ones. Thanks for the show and HH to ya.

Has to be a good site if you are getting pottery. Means they stuck around some. I bet you find more from that place.

Especially heart breakers when either end is sticking out of the dirt only to find it broken. I love the hunt and will take a broken anything over nothing.

Do you have an opinion about the age of any of these?

out of all the pieces pictured i like the scraper on the bottom of image #2 can you post a picture of the other side please?

TN is right, when you find pottery like that you are on a site that was occupied for a while

All the pieces look to be pretty normal to what you would find on a Hopewell camp. Middle woodland period. The broken points are in the Snyders cluster.

Those relics are around 1500 years old so there can be no true tribal affiliation associated with them.

Hey Hippy. Thanks for the good info. You sound pretty sure about the pieces. I've been slowly adding to my knowledge of what I have, so thanks again for the a leap forward. Ill be looking up everything you mentioned, especially the part about them probably not belonging to a tribe.
