I bought a few old mining site/plat maps from a prospecting store in Auburn, ca. I am curious what Your thoughts are about Good areas to prospect in Placer, Nevada and Plumas counties. American river is prefered, yet not Completely #1. Ive travelled through Foresthill/Mosq Ridge rd, Iowa Hill and drove by Bear River...

Frank has been selling those maps at Pioneer for at least 20 years. The original was published in Bulletin 191 Mines and Minerals of Calif and is 100% spot on. His accurate colorization is a great assist in the location of the motherload transitions throughout the motherlode region. SF Yuba outta Nevada City,either Edwards or Purdone crossing,Auburn Rec Area as 2 forks of the american included,Drivers Flats off the divide or Cherokee bar outta Cool down slager mine road. Enough public open mining areas to keep ya busy for the next 100 years-John
