It's me again! I got a very very short hunt in this morning at a Tot Lot at a public elementary school in a nearby town. I was playing chauffeur for my wife this morning and had a little time to kill between dropping her off , then returning for the "festivities" and ceremonies. My wife is part of a not for profit group that champions Mental Health. Some of you may have heard of it, N.A.M.I. (the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) Val is the consumer advocate for the State of Kentucky as well as a member of NAMI. Today was their annual WALK, a fund raiser and vehicle for awareness and publicity. There were over 3000 people in attendance this afternoon. Pretty damned good considering that Keenland's fall meet is going on (Thoroughbred horse racing) and the University of Kentucky was hosting L.S.U. for a little game of football. Still though, the Governor of Kentucky was in attendance for the second year in a row. Cool. Anyway, as I said, after I dropped my wife off at the Horse Park (where the walk was to be held) to help with preparations, I had about an hour or so that I could go indulge my hobby.
Georgetown Kentucky is just 5 miles from the Kentucky Horse Park and there are two good sized "tot lots" on the grounds of Garth Elementary School. Garth Elementary used to be Georgetown High School back in my farther's day. That was before the city and county merged their two Height Schools to be just Scott County Senior High.. where I graduated in fact. <smile> But I digress.. again. <blushing>
The cooler weather this morning probably attributed to the lack of tots at the tot lots. I only saw one little rug rat <grin> and his attentive mother while I was sweeping the woodchips. He was timid and didn't come near me let alone bother me, and Mom was very watchful, as she should be. Good for you mom!
My hunt was short, but I did fairly well for such a short hunt. I found $2.67 in clad, a key, some pull tabs and several pencil stubs.. ever notice how the little metal band that holds the eraser to the end of the pencil shows up like a nickel on your detector's target ID ?.. I found an eye. <laughing> One of those little glue on rolling eyes that are found on toys and stuffed animals. Pull tabs of course, though not so many of them as usual. Oddly enough I found today that most of my "nickel" targets were indeed Nickels! "Sometimes a nickel is a.. well.. a nickel." <grin> I found one odd piece today though. I'm not really sure what it is. I have a good idea that it's a piece of plumbing, a sprayer head or something, but it looks too big for a bathshower, more like an outer ring for a firehose sprayer nozzle. I have pics, could any of you help with identifying it? It's not brass and it's not copper, some sort of zinc alloy. <shrug>
Here's the pics.. all this in about 40 minutes.. no kidding. Actually it was closer to 35 minutes but I counted coming from and going to the car too, as I actually detected the edge of the sidewalks both ways.. hey.. You never know!
... And now for the closeups of the mystery piece of plumbing..
Anyone with an idea or an ID of this piece
