How are these for SoCal beach finds? Hunted a known old section of beach after our recent storms. I noticed lots of rocks in a section where I've found old coins before. Needless to say, I'm happy with the area! These were found with may other old coins, but, these are my favorites at the moment. The Standing Liberty quarter is a 1923S, a key date. The "V" nickel is a 1912S, which is also a key date and very low mintage. Last, but certainly not least (in my book!) is an 1816 one reale from colonial Mexico, my oldest coin find here, and the only reale I've found, which was quite a surprise when I cracked open that crusty target. It was initially bigger than a quarter in size, but, after breaking off all the encrustation, it's just a bit bigger than a cent!

You must be a very happy camper! Congrats on some really great beach finds, just goes to show, you never know when or where it's going to show up.

Very nice trio of coins.

Good job Cuda - nice to see you out searching for more then just rings!!! :laughing7:

Truth be told, I'd rather hunt for old coins and relics. Jewelry does nothing for me (re: lipstick on a pig) so I don't wear it. Luckily the wife loves jewelry, so, she ends up with the best stuff and the rest just goes into the "treasure" chest. We have more weather coming in this weekend, so, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some sand movement.

Here is an idea!? I think that what you found might have been leftovers from a seeded beach hunt.
My prospecting club in Orange County would have one each year. Lots of fun and a chance to find older coins not common in our area.

Wow... Those are great beach finds!

Way to find that blown out spot...down to rocks. Excellent coins, definately not leftovers from a seeded hunt with a 23s SLQ and a spanish encrusted. Grats to ya and thanx for sharin'. HH ALL
