It has been worked, more than likely they were testing it for knapping or making a cutting tool. It still a good find

JMO but could have come from a core then a few percussion/reduction flakes removed......
.........looks like an edge was developed in the process and then with about ten minutes of pressure flaking it became an expedient scraping/cutting tool....
