They’re called a Short Lag Shield. Made from zinc-alloy.

Pretty sure they are junk but wondering

only you can truly decide what is junk and what is treasure. some guys love stuff like shotgun shells where I only keep a select few types,yet for some reason I can't throw away all the old axe heads and horseshoes/ox shoes I find. if you like it, keep it. If you don't, get rid of it.
 
the other is indian money ,aka corniod stem,not sure of the spelling but ancient plant fossil
