Hello, I found this on land that has an old silo foundation and barn foundation. There was a house that burned down. We believe it?s from late 1700s. It has metal on both sides I believe it?s copper or brass. Some kind of cardboard in the middle. Any information would be great thank you.

Sounds like old gasket material for engine assembly.

Be careful that crap could have Asbestos in it. Handle with care.

Couldn't it be from early goggles for wearing on early airplanes/biplanes?

Looks like part of the exhaust gasket from an old Continental engine? Used for many things.

No, but I will admit that the first thing that popped into my head when I saw it was this kid from "A Christmas Story".
