this notched hoe was found in 1907 by Willie Jefferson in St Clair Co Illinois, is was presented to H M Wheply, a prominent st Louis Missouri doctor.

grass use polish and use grooves can be easily seen in the bit area.

this is the best notched hoe in my collection and one of the best around. Ben Thompson tag 8738.

Don't post here much these days; stop by to read now and then. Like to share my notched, recent personal find: about as nice as I have ever found here in Cayuga County area of central NY. Brewerton Side-Notched, 2.5 inches, classic Onondaga Chert is my best typing of this beauty which was lying on the surface of one of our favorite fields in Savannah, NY. Notice the re-touching along one edge so as to almost form a bevel. Ritchie says these could have been 'javelin heads' or re-sharpened for use as knives. The distinction between Brewerton Side-Notched versus Corner-Notched can, in some cases, be slight: a judgement call. In either case, this is likely 4000 - 5000 years old. Whew

Looks like it’s colorful. Take some outside in the sun I bet that one will pop very well. Stick around we enjoy all artifacts

They liked that one. It was resharpened several times, even the tip when it broke.

Awesome Hoe. I’m still waiting to find one in that style

Here is a point I don't think I have ever posted before.

I found this point in Jefferson County Missouri 1980. In the days of mold board plowing. This point was on a pedestal about 1 to 1.5 inches high, yelling at me: "here I am." The point is a creamy white, most likely Crecent quarry chert variety since I was not too far from Crecent.

Back then Crecent was a very small sleepy town my brother-in-law grew up in and had many relatives there. His grandmother owned a big farm when she was alive. I found many relics in the area back in the day.

Nice points! Started looking in April 2023 and have been addicted ever since. These are just a few of the ones I have found in the last year.

Nice finds; it is a addiction. Usually it's after finding one but it took me two 👍
