Novice Treasure Hunter

Hi y'all I'm a novice to all this (I take part in foraging and one off road path led to another and here I am....) I was wondering if y'all had any tips for a beginner (literally on anything at all), especially any tips for hunting in the central Alabama region

Learn some research skills for the local area and find some of those long gone home sites. Go slow. Look for clues like cellar holes, old fence rows, broken bricks, stone foundations and other things that lead you to believe there was something there at one time besides rabbits and deer. Relics and coins can be found anywhere man has been and some of the most productive spots will sometimes surprise you.
