That's actually a decent way to handle it. If you found that in the U.S. I bet that you would be swamped with lawsuits from people trying to make a claim. So letting the authorities do that legwork might actually be an advantage. And with a find like that, these days simply keeping it and keeping quiet while trying to infiltrate it into your life would be very difficult with the AI and other tech tools the government has at their fingertips.
