The collection of stuff piles up Well done

Those sash weights are in high demand down here in the keys. We use them for commercial fishing weights. Have to drive to st Louis once a year to pick up a truck load. I think we pay 5 dollars a piece. They are getting more and more scarce.

Use those weights to construct a wind chime! Cool finds, Sub 8-)

Good exercise for you for sure

I found one of those on the beach at Assateague Island, VA. Thought it was a sounding weight used on old sailing vessels. My comedian archeologist friend told me, "No, it's a sash weight, but as sash weights go, it's spectacular!" Probably was repurposed as a poor anchor or net weight. Wonder why so many in one spot. Was there a house there ever?

LOL lots of exercise! :icon_thumleft:

I remember the windows in my grandparents house that had the ropes and weights. Nice vintage finds....

Nice finds. Congrats

Yes, there was an old homestead there at one time. It showed up on my 1911 Plat book. It was just odd that I found so many at one spot. Usually its one here, and one there. Guess they may have been wealthier, and had a lot of windows !

Still a nice hunt, congratulations! :occasion14:

4 weights per window, 2 upper sash and 2 lower sash.

3 of them make a good kayak anchor!!!

I don't care much about the weights, but your post title was the best one I've ever seen. If there was a banner for post TITLES, I'd give it to you.

Thank you Parson. I try to make them catchy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't !
