Whatever the pawnstore offers, I'll give you 25% more, lol. I doubt they will still be there.

If not still there...
Chalk this one up as your first of many "picking mistakes" to come :)

Well,I had bad experience from picking a silver plated plate (because I thought,it's sterling silver,my English is not good LOL)
Thought,it was made in Italy (signed Fatto A Mano) and now it'sitting somewhere in the basement
Anyway,This morning I picked up some 10K gold chains from the same yard sale
They all were in the same little bag at the boredom of the bucket
They were marked 10k at the clasps(and all of them are not in a good condition for chain)

I was not brave to post because I still don't believe that people throw gold LOL
btw, last week I found a pair of 14K gold earings at the same yard sale

Oh you've made up for those spoons just in gold! Looks good, keep picking!

For all the chains she cost me only a dollar!
She asked me if I found some valuable pieces
She bought all stuffs from estate sales and never arrange them
You might need to spend an hours just to match a pair of earings LOL

Now I am learning about silver
and I am surprised that the hallmark lion upper sign "Made in England"
It means sterling silver
I saw some metal boxes have exactly the same signed at this yard sale
she put them together with copper plates
if she still has some left I will buy them all!

Go back tomorrow and ask her if she has any old coins. Check www.coinflation.com. maybe can score some silver that way too. Seems like it would be a good yard sale to ask at. Or some old watches seems like there's a lot of good stuff sitting at that sale!!

Seems like you're in an awesome area for silver and gold! Lucky dog!!

I live in a small city called Buckingham in Quebec side, Canada
It's at the border between English and French area.
This city is full of old people, and they are so kind :)
I got some nice French and Italian vintage silk scarves( for free from these sales) from old ladies.
Some stuffs go to my mom because I am too young for them LOL

In charity stores near my place, people always donate some gold or fine jewelry.
But the stores know very well what they sell, so they usually are quite pricey!
I like garage sale or yard sale bette...

Quebec is one of my most favorite areas. Now I have another reason to go visit, great yard sales

Well I think it is time to clean out your basement.

Fatto A Mano is Italian it means MADE BY HAND. Double check that it is silver. I used to make silver jewelry and even when I was a poor college student (still not rich) I always used silver. The raw stuff is not that expensive and then it is easier to sell.

Even back then (early 70's) I would go to swap meets and buy silver spoons and forks for 50¢. I now will offer $1.00 (inflation I guess)

sterling silver will be marked 925 or sterling normally -- 950 marked and silverfish colored is actually "white gold" aka as platinum ....yellow gold can be 10 k (416) , 14 k (583) or 18k K (750) being common ===with 12 K older items and with Arabic middle eastern gold items going up to 22 K ....seldom will Arabic made items be below 18 K ..(750 parts per 1000) . 3/4 gold

same like--made in mexico -- marked in spanish--on some hand made silver items *
